MANI BHAVANA ALA's profile

GUIDE : Vishnupriya Narayanan | Mamta Lal

This was a classroom project that began at home during the lockdown and continued on campus at a later stage. We began by choosing a flower that bloomed in reach for live sketching, learnt how to make compositions in straight repeat, half drop repeat, an allover surface, colour separation, colour ways, screen requirements, pigments, and the technique of screen printing.

Considering the nature of my inspiration in terms of scale, it was challenging to create a harmonious surface. Multiple refinements later, screens were produced and fabrics were printed.
